Parishioner Spotlight: Albert Foreman

Christ Church Cathedral recently said goodbye to a faithful and much-loved member of our church family, Dr Albert Edward Foreman OAM.

Albert was a deeply humble man who would have been the last person to seek recognition for his generous and sacrificial service to the Northern Territory over many decades. Yet, as the Rolling Stones famously observed, you can’t always get what you want.

On Wednesday evening, family, friends, and members of the Christ Church Cathedral community gathered at the Northern Territory Parliament to hear tributes reflecting on Albert’s remarkable life and contribution. God willing, the full set of speeches will be available soon. In the meantime, we are pleased to share the address given by Chief Minister Lia Finocchiaro.

There is a particularly encouraging section on Albert’s Christian faith, featuring reflections from Bishop Greg and Dean Rob, beginning at 6:53 in the video below.

We give thanks to God for the life, faithful witness, and steadfast trust in the Lord Jesus Christ shown by Dr Albert Edward Foreman OAM. His example continues to encourage us to persevere in serving Christ with humility, generosity, and hope.
