Mission of the Month: The Australian Society for Indigenous Languages (AuSIL)
The Australian Society for Indigenous Languages (AuSIL) is a faith-based, non-profit organisation committed to serving Indigenous communities through linguistic research, translation, training, and the development of language resources, with a particular focus on Christian Scripture and discipleship materials.
Week 2 prayer: Give thanks for the multi-language translation workshops run by AuSIL in Darwin a number of times each year, which give Indigenous translators a break from community life and allow them to take a small-scale translation project from start to finish over the course of one or two weeks. Pray that these workshops will encourage our Indigenous brothers and sisters to keep going with translation work in their home communities, and that the newly translated portions of Scripture will be a great blessing to the churches and people there.
